Cultural Competence and Sensitivity Class

Binawan Training Center’s Cultural Competence and Sensitivity Classes aim to educate individuals about diverse cultures, identities, and perspectives to foster understanding, respect, and effective communication across different cultural backgrounds. Here are the topics covered in our class:

Cultural Awareness and Humility: Understanding and adopting an attitude of openness, curiosity, and respect towards other cultures.
Communication Styles: Verbal and non-verbal communication, directness, and expression of emotions.
Cultural Norms and Values: Learning about cultural norms, values, traditions, and customs, and how they shape behavior, beliefs, and expectations within different cultural groups.

This class utilizes a combination of lectures, discussions, case studies, experiential activities, and guest speakers from diverse backgrounds to facilitate learning and dialogue. The goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to navigate and thrive in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world.
